Goal: Design a booklet encapsulatingCybernetic Technology: Some Collective Recipes for Speaking Together and Learning From Each Other by Dan Taeyoung.
The text I was designing for playfully discussed methods of communication. With its focus on playfulness, technological systems and human relationships, I was inspired to make it have a familiar, friendly feel. I was inspired by Shel Silverstein's sketches and the nostalgia of a 70's aesthetic. With its focus on systems, I also wanted to maintain a clean, organized look.

I went with the first direction. For my final book, I included:
A continuous character mirroring the reader for playfulness.
Cool and warm tones, contrasting structure and warmth from human connection.
A nod to retro aesthetics with large serif fonts and character fashion.
